THE EU WEEE DIRECTIVE
The European Union's WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment) is aimed at reducing waste from electrical and electronic
equipment, and to encourage their recovery, reuse and recycling. The
directive sets requirements and targets the collection, recycling,
recovery and environmentally sound treatment of electrical and
electronic equipment once it has reached the end of its useful life. It
requires producers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance
most of these activities.
Aastra MX-ONE™ complies with EC directives WEEE and ROHS
RoHS obligations
A key factor when considering updating your operations is the
legislation on Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances
(RoHS). This legislation came into force on July 1 2006.
RoHS is a directive banning the placement on the EU market of new
electrical and electronic equipment containing more than the agreed
upon levels of certain chemicals and compounds such as lead and
mercury. MX-ONE™ is based entirely on RoHS compliant hardware. Using
MX-ONE™ ensures that the next step your company takes in communications
will make you RoHS compliant.
